The current version of the BrainFrame system employs the Jess reasoning engine which is based on the Rete algorithm. Several sets of rules and facts have already been developed. The current version of BrianFrame also uses OWLJessKB to import the BrainFrame ontologies into Jess.
The next version of BrainFrame will use the Rete engine that is packaged with the Jena Semantic Web Framework API.
